MCN is at the world launch of Bimota’s new BB3, powered by a revised BMW S1000RR engine, at the Tazio Nuvalari circuit in Italy today.
Senior Road Tester Adam Child will be testing the all-new Bimota, which is the latest bike to come from the historic and exotic brand under it’s new ownership. The new BB3 is powered by the inline four cylinder 999cc motor normally found in BMW’s class-leading S1000RR, meaning power is being quoted at 190bhp.
Bimota have however opted for a traditional steel trellis frame, as always, with aluminium side plates to clamp the rear engine mounts. The new BB3 is laden in exotica, with Ohlins fully adjustable forks up front, a fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock, radial Brembo brakes and lashings of carbon fibre.
We’ve been told Bimota will run very similar electronics to the standard S1000RR, with the same rider modes and traction control. For a full exclusive road test, read Wednesday 18th June’s MCN.
