preview KB 998

During the last SBK event in Jerez, the new Bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team (BBKRT), has showed in a world wide preview, the new KB 998.

The bike's name doesn't respect the original rules of Bimota's bike, the number reflects the Kawasaki engine's displacement.

The bike built has as core the engine of the ZX10R with a 205CV at 14.000 round/min. for the 998cc engine.

The bike's specifies hadn't released, but it is clear how the frame has been manufactured in Bimota, it reflects the concept showed on KB4.

During next EICMA will be release the road legal version.

Bimota returns to WorldSBK in 2025

This is a great news for all the fans of the WCSBK and Bimota lovers. But the enter of Bimota as new manufacturer has a cost, the exit, my personal opinion in a couple of years of Kawasaki. The Kawasaki official team we had known in these years will expire as Kawasaki, it will rebrand as Bimota BRK.

Done! It is official!

Raduno Internazionale Bimota Classic Parts 2018

COMUNICATO STAMPA
Raduno Internazionale Bimota Classic Parts

Vyrus 986 M2 Strada: test by Alan Cathcart

Like a Bimota Tesi, only better. The Vyrus has come straight from the racetrack to give you the ultimate street riding experience.
Sticking the “racer with lights” label on a refugee from the racetrack isn’t always a passport to street-legal satisfaction. But when you’ve had six long years to figure out how to go about it, the chances are good that you might get it right.
That’s how long it’s taken Vyrus virtuoso Ascanio Rodorigo to do just that with the Moto2 racer he first unveiled in January 2011, with the promise that he’d produce a homologated street version in due course—and now at last he has.
Rodorigo is the proprietor of Italian boutique bike builder Vyrus Divisione Motori, the so-called Clinica Moto [aka bike clinic] located just a stone’s throw from the Bimota factory on the outskirts of Rimini.
There, for the past 14 years, he and his like-minded quartet of fellow craftsmen have patiently created a succession of two-wheeled works of art represented by the over 150 examples of the high-priced hub-center Vyrus sportbike they’ve constructed there during that period under the pura follia tecnologica banner—and it is indeed a fact that they represent two-wheeled technology truly gone mad!

Bimota continues to create dreams in a new home.
Rimini September 7, 2017 - Bimota continues to "create dreams" in new operational headquarters, a handicraft building just a few hundred meters from the historic structure of Via Lea Giaccaglia in Rimini. The spaces are new, bright and organized. The layout on just one floor allows a smooth and easy production flow for a craft factory such as Bimota.
An additional dislocated structure houses the components of the out-of-production models.
The first bikes have already been assembled in the new building.
Despite the unavoidable discomforts due to a move still in progress, the pace of production is recovering at regular rates thanks to more and more selected and competent staff.

Our willingness to provide service and assistance to our customers worldwide and our importers remains the main commitment at this time until the recent relocation will be fully completed.
The switchboard is currently operating from 9:00 to 17:00 with a temporary telephone number: +39 0541 391290; the email address remains info@bimota.it. Further updates will be published directly on www.bimota.it.
Ultimately it can be said that Bimota certainly is not extinct.
Over the last few weeks, the company has also received attention by various groups interested in the brand; a further confirmation of the prestige that Bimota has always had.

it's time of bad news...

from MCN:

Italian motorcycle company Bimota— created by Massimo Tamburini with technical and styling excellence through his hard work and superb creativity—is almost completely extinct. The premises located in via Giaccaglia, on the outskirt of Rimini, are empty. The Bimota sign has been taken down and the sight of it made me terribly sad.
My memories go back to the enthusiasm and passion that characterized the atmosphere at Bimota in the old days, when Massimo was carefully cutting, bending and welding chrome-moly steel tubing to create the most advanced and refined motorcycle chassis of the time.
Today, a sign says that Bimota moved about 100 yards from the old building, but there is only a 4,500-square-foot storehouse in a public storage building where they piled up the spare parts of the latest Bimota models, in particular the unfortunate BB3. Only three or four people are working there. The present Bimota owners, Messrs. Daniele Longoni and Marco Chiancianesi, are Italian contractors living and operating in Switzerland. They’ve moved all the components that would keep production alive for a few months to a shop somewhere near Lugano. This was confirmed to me by an Australian friend, Captain Niels Faerch, who ordered a Bimota Tesi 3 from his local dealer and who confirmed that the bike had been assembled in Switzerland.
Delivery time had been extremely long to the point that Captain Faerch was getting a little anxious about the final outcome of his purchase and related downpayment, but all turned out nicely. What will happen once the stock of components will be gone is a big question mark because it seems that all connections with the real Bimota tradition have been cut. Bimota changed hands a few times too many, and this last time looks, well, final.
The sequence started after Massimo was stabbed in the back by his “friendly” partner Giuseppe Morri and forced to quit. That was totally suicidal because Massimo unconditionally was the pillar of Bimota. He wanted to keep Bimota lean, agile, focused on R&D and on the production of a highly advanced frame and beautifully designed body kits, for racing bikes and for street bike as well. There was a whole new generation of enthusiastic owners of super Japanese Fours begging for better handling, lighter, leaner chassis kits to harness their powerful engines....

Via ogni riferimento.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bikers Will Never Get Another Speeding Ticket With New App-Wristband Combo
VERONA, Italy August 2, 2016 - A perfectly legal way for bikers to avoid ever getting a speeding ticket again has been developed by a design team in Verona, Italy. WOOLF, a leather wristband that connects to the biker's smartphone through its dedicated app, notifies the biker through a series of vibrations if they are approaching a speed controlled area. Bikers then know exactly when and where to slow down without having to take their eyes off the road. It's a safe, accurate way available to avoid hefty fines, license suspensions, and other harsh penalties.
The wristband, which was designed to blend in seamlessly with motorcycle gear, is made in Italy from the finest leather, water-resistant, and fits comfortably even under the tightest gloves. It's dependable and, with normal use, the long-lasting battery will work for up to 15 days on a single three-hour charge. In addition to that, the app, which is available with iOS and Android, is linked to the Worldwide Speed Camera DataBase, a mapping system known worldwide for its accuracy.
"We wanted to create a device that kept bikers safe on the road and, at the same time, help them avoid getting speeding tickets or other driving penalties. It needed to be user-friendly, highly accurate, and discrete by blending in with their look, so they would actually wear it. We took all of these aspects into account while developing WOOLF. It covers all of these point and is less expensive than the minimum traffic penalty!" says WOOLF strategist and co-founder, Federico Tognetti.
The team that developed WOOLF is made up of a well-rounded group with expertise in a range of fields from software development and design, to strategic growth and management for multinational companies. The startup was co-founded by Matteo Bissoli, Simone Camporeale and Federico Tognetti in 2015. WOOLF is their flagship product and after six months of research, development, and testing the final prototype is ready for production. WOOLF is set to hit the market in Spring of next year. It’s designed by Paolo Cappello, winner of many international prizes, whose works have been showcased in many expositions in Rome, Milan, New York, Paris, São Paulo, Miami, London and Dubai.
Those interested in receiving a WOOLF before the wristbands hit the market will have the chance to pre-order theirs for a limited time exclusively through Kickstarter. From now until August 27, early adopters can get the wristband, which retails at 139 euros, at up to 40 euros off.
WOOLF in action: https://vimeo.com/175948159

WOOLF is the first wristband made by motorcyclists for motorcyclists.
Thanks to its accurate positioning system, WOOLF will let you know when there are speed cameras or other measurement devices nearby. WOOLF signals you using vibrations that increase in frequency as you approach the controlled area.
Safety, freedom and speed. As a motorcyclist, you just have to keep your eyes on the road and enjoy the ride – WOOLF will let you know when to watch out using its global mapping service. The closer your bike gets to a speed check, the more insistently your wristband will vibrate to warn you. This lets you reach the perfect speed right as you pass through the controlled area.
WOOLF brings together the fun of riding with greater levels of safety, and can save you money! Wave goodbye to expensive speeding fines, license suspensions, and other harsh penalties. WOOLF allows you as a motorcyclist to slow down at just the right moment without taking your attention away from the road!
The wristband, with a design 100% made in Italy, has been carefully designed with biker clothing in mind and is made from the best, water-resistant leather. It's slim and comfortable and fits perfectly even under close-fitting biker gloves. WOOLF is a completely legal accessory.
We're counting on our crowdfunding campaign to make this a reality. You can support WOOLF through Kickstarter.com!

old but good for race

The Bimota YB5 was tagged as the fastest, maddest, most expensive hyperbike on the planet when it was rolled out in 1987. With 130-horsepower from the amazing FJ1200 engine, the YB5 was what the Hayabusa is now, only with the flair and exclusivity that comes with a bike that is hand built and one from a run of only 208 units.
The original YB5 was very trick for the era, with a chro-moly steel cradle frame running machined billet alloy sideplates. It ran a high-end Marzocchi 42mm fork, Brembo brakes and retailed for a then-stratospheric $11,000 USD. It was one of the most amazing, expensive, out of this world and radical motorcycles on the planet.

It was fast – real fast – and it handled almost like a 250 despite housing a massive lump of an engine from a Yamaha FJ1200. By 1988, the production run was over and lucky collectors had a true piece of history.
Almost 30 years later, the YB5 legend remains, but it’s almost impossible to find one today. It took T-Rex Racing’s Rex Wolfenden an eternity to find himself an immaculate low-mileage example. He got hold of one and landed it on the bench in his immaculate Melbourne, Australia, workshop that is famous Down Under for building championship-winning motorcycles, particularly specializing in Honda 750 Fours of the classic Forgotten Era class.
