TEAM ALSTARE JUNIOR BIMOTA UPBEAT DESPITE TOUGH WEEKEND
Team Alstare Junior Bimota arrived at Cadwell Park circuit for the first time this weekend and were once again faced with the difficult task of learning a new track in a short time. Cadwell park – often described as a mini Nurburgring – is one of the most demanding tracks in the British Superbike Championship and is hard to learn at the best of times but, just to make life a bit more difficult, Team Alstare Junior Bimota were also forced to face varying weather conditions today. Although the results weren’t particularly noteworthy, the team are thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere and ambiance that the British Superbike Championship provides and gaining experience each time out.

”When I first arrived and saw the track, I couldn’t believe my eyes! It seemed that I had to go up and down a mountain and it also felt very small and not very wide. Going out for the first time was a real eye-opener and I couldn’t believe how fast my competitors were going and the way they used the white lines in the dry. All tracks demand knowledge, but to go round Cadwell fast, you have to have many, many laps under your belt. And there’s not that much time to learn the track, because qualifying starts on the second day.
I crashed after five laps in the first practice when I went on to the grass and that meant that my time on the circuit was limited, as I couldn’t do both sessions. On the second day, I managed to knock more than two seconds off my lap time and we were all much happier.
The first race started dry, but then the rain came down and made things even more difficult. We were all on slicks and just kept going even though it was getting more and more tricky with every lap. I managed nine laps before crashing and the race was red-flagged not long after because of the rain. I started race 2, which was wet, but everything felt wrong, so I pulled out almost immediately.
Despite the weather there were a lot of spectators and we were knocked out by the welcome we received throughout the weekend and the wonderful atmosphere. It has been the same at all three races we’ve done so far and we’re really looking forward to next races. Donington is up next and although it will be yet another new track, I don’t think it will be as hard to learn as Cadwell or Oulton Park. It’s a bigger track and wider, so I think I will be able to get on with it a lot better.”

BIMOTA DECIDES TO REORGANIZE ITS RACING PROGRAM
Rimini, August 27, 2014 - Bimota decides to not deploy its BB3 EVO in the last three rounds of the Superbike World Championship.
Bimota committed itself till the last minute to produce the needed bikes to obtain the approval for the races. Today Bimota has already assembled and delivered the first 30 bikes; available at stock there is everything to complete the 95 bikes left (with requests of purchase for the main part of these) and has obtained the necessary guarantees required by BMW for the delivery of the missing engines. Maybe 6/8 more weeks would have been sufficient to obtain the 125 requested bikes.
"We’ve been working very hard" – states Daniele Longoni, General Manager of Bimota - "and we will continue to work this way to complete the production and to be ready for the next season".
The BB3 project was presented just a year ago and yet it did everyone speak incredibly of if since the beginning. Indisputable merit of the competence of the Bimota technical staff who has designed and developed a bike born with the 'pedigree' and of the experience of the Francis Battà's Team Alstare that has adapted the bike and made it competitive and winning in the races. The extraordinary riders Ayrton Badovini and Christian Iddon won 16 podiums and 5 wins in 16 races.
The results obtained have generated important orders of the entire range of Bimota bikes to an unexpected level. All of this has required an extraordinary commitment to satisfy customers in every part of the world in an optimal way, respecting the delivery schedule and above all, the quality and the handmade care that since always distinguishes the company.
"As new owners" – says Marco Chiancianesi, President of Bimota - "only 10 months after the change of management we have accepted this new challenge and brought back to competitions an historic and important brand. We are proud of this". It's sorry to leave the championship, given the commitment of everyone involved, the important investments made and the results obtained; in a virtual standings of the EVO bikes, Bimota at the moment would score in the second position with Ayrton Badovini. However feelings and passion since always have the "heart throw beyond the hurdle" and Bimota has done this and will continue to do so with all of its staff. The augury is that the true fans in the motorcycle's world may well understand the reasons behind this decision.
The following few months of 2014 will be used to prepare the necessary conditions in relation to the new regulation of the SBK and still to be competitive at the beginning of the next season.
Bimota would want to truly thank the FIM, Dorna, the Alstare Team and the riders for the important support, all the suppliers, the sponsors, the other manufacturers and of course the many caring fans who have always showed their appreciation.
Bimota will schedule a future meeting with FIM and Dorna, as soon as the numbers required will be reached.

Rimini, 27 agosto 2014 – Bimota decide di non schierare le sue BB3 EVO negli ultimi tre round del Campionato del Mondo SBK.
Bimota si è impegnata fino all’ultimo per produrre le moto necessarie ad ottenere l’omologazione alle gare. Ad oggi ha già assemblato e consegnato le prime 30 moto; ha a disposizione in magazzino il materiale per realizzare le ulteriori 95 moto (con richieste di vendita per una buona parte di queste) ed ha ottenuto le garanzie necessarie richieste da BMW per la consegna dei motori mancanti. Probabilmente ulteriori 6/8 settimane sarebbero state sufficienti ad ottenere le 125 moto richieste.
“Abbiamo lavorato duramente” – dichiara Daniele Longoni, Direttore Generale di Bimota – “e continueremo a farlo per completare la produzione ed essere pronti per la prossima stagione”.
Il progetto BB3 é stato presentato nemmeno un anno fa eppure ha fatto incredibilmente parlare di sè da subito. Merito Indiscutibile della competenza del personale tecnico Bimota che ha progettato e sviluppato una moto nata con ‘pedigree’ e dell’esperienza del Team Alstare di Francis Battà che ha adattato la moto e l’ha resa competitiva e vincente in gara. Gli straordinari piloti Ayrton Badovini e Christian Iddon hanno infatti conquistato 16 podi e 5 vittorie in 16 gare.
I risultati ottenuti hanno generato importanti ordini di tutta la gamma Bimota ad un livello inaspettato. Tutto questo ha richiesto un impegno straordinario per servire la clientela di ogni parte del mondo in modo ottimale, rispettando i tempi di consegna e soprattutto la qualità e la cura sartoriale che da sempre contraddistingue l’azienda.
“Come nuovi proprietari” - dice Marco Chiancianesi, Presidente della Bimota - “a solo 10 mesi dal cambio di gestione abbiamo accettato questa nuova sfida e riportato un marchio storico ed importante alle competizioni. Ne siamo orgogliosi”. Di certo dispiace molto uscire dal campionato, visto l’impegno da parte di tutti, gli importanti investimenti fatti ed i risultati ottenuti; in una classifica virtuale della EVO infatti la Bimota in questo momento occuperebbe la seconda posizione assoluta con Ayrton Badovini. Tuttavia il sentimento e la passione da sempre fanno “lanciare il cuore oltre l’ostacolo” e questo Bimota lo ha fatto e continuerà a farlo insieme a tutto il proprio staff. L’augurio è che i veri appassionati del mondo motociclistico potranno ben comprendere le ragioni di questa decisione.
Questi ultimi mesi dell’anno verranno utilizzati per preparare le condizioni necessarie in relazione alle nuove regole del Campionato del Mondo SBK ed essere ancora competitivi all’inizio della prossima stagione.
Bimota ci tiene a ringraziare la FIM, la Dorna, il Team ed i propri piloti per l’importante supporto, i fornitori, gli sponsor le altre case costruttrici ed i tantissimi tifosi appassionati che non hanno mai fatto mancare i loro attestati di stima.
