Si è concluso con un 4° posto nella categoria bicilindriche, 1° tra i piloti italiani e con un tempo di 7:58,452 che posiziona il Binomio Bimota DBx / Stefano Sacchini nei primi 300 posti assoluti con 1.500 partenti.

Un’edizone di Erzberg caratterizzata dal maltempo che ha stravolto l’evento, modificando il percorso dell’ “Iron Prologue” e riducendo da 2 a 1 i passaggi cronometrati sul percorso. Venerdì con nebbia, neve e temperature sotto lo zero, Sabato con condizioni meteo più favorevoli

Stefano Sacchini (pilota, n°774):“gareggiare all’Erzberg è un’emozione incredibile. Il risultato ottenuto per noi è eccezionale, considerando il fatto che abbiam corso solo il Venerdì  con condizioni meteo e temperature proibitive; alla fine della prima salita ero davvero congelato ma felice per il comportamento perfetto della moto sulla difficile salita austriaca!”

Ing. Massimo Gustato (Bimota, capo progetto DBx):”questo test era fondamentale per noi; lavoriamo con Stefano Sacchini a questo progetto da ormai molto tempo e, considerando che la moto è un prodotto di Bimota completamente nuovo ed alla sua prima uscita assoluta, possiamo ritenerci molto, molto soddisfatti. Il nostro obiettivo era di arrivare nei primi 500 classificati e di entrare nei primi 10 nella classifica delle bicilindriche; con il nostro tempo ci siam posizionati 296° assoluti e 4° di categoria quindi ben oltre le nostre aspettative della vigilia.”

Risultato reso più prezioso se si considera che la moto che ha corso all’Erzberg, è stata aggiornata solo nei materiali di protezione necessari alla gara specifica, ma è assolutamente di serie e identica a quelle già disponibili presso le concessionarie di tutto il mondo.

Massimo Gustato (Bimota, DBx project leader): "This test was crucial for us, we work with Stefano Sacchini on this project for a long time now, and considering that the bike is a product of Bimota completely new and on his first absolute race, we are very, very satisfied.
